It has been announced that this year's Fawndale Fair will take place on the 18th August in the church grounds. Attractions will include cake stalls, largest vegetable competitions, and games for children. The Dales quartet will provide the entertainment.

25th April:Produce for Sale

Edwin Ambrose has many locally grown vegetables for sale, including a wide variety of potatoes and parsnips. Contact him at the farm for more details.

1st May:Polling Day

The council elections are taking place today-don't forget to vote! The polling station is in the church hall.

2nd May:Election Results

The votes from the election have been counted, and the new parish council has been announced. Click here to see the new council.

8th May:Proposals Rejected

The proposals for the reservoir in this area were discussed at an emergency parish meeting. They were unanimously rejected by all present. Councillor Joanna Chase will head up the protests against the proposed development.

13th May:Police Announcement

The police have assured all local residents that there is nothing to be alarmed about, and that they are investigating all allegations of bribery and threatening behaviour with the utmost urgency.

15th May at 00:00:Joanna Chase found murdered

The tragic news of a death in the village shocked our community tonight. Alan Boulter found her body when he went to visit to discuss the campaign against the proposed development. Dr. Mark Lanark was summoned, but there was nothing he could do to save her, it appeared that she had suffered multiple stab wounds, and died of excessive blood loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time. Needless to say, we trust in the officers of the law to investigate fully.

15th May at 12:23:James Jonsell killed in street

Whilst we are still reeling from the shock of Joanna's death, we sadly have to report the demise of Mr. Jonsell. It appears he was shot whilst doing his shopping, a gunshot wound to the back of his head proved fatal. He was discovered outside Christ's Cottage, although the cottage was not occupied at the time. We urge all residents to remain calm but to be very careful when walking around the village.

UPDATE:
Townsfolk removing the body were shocked to read a message saying "NO RESERVOIR HERE" on a nearby wall. It appears to have been painted with the victim's own blood.

*** Mick Close saw Jonsell walking down the street, holding a pen. Despite being entirely innocent, Close killed Jonsell by saying bang (hence no weapon was mentioned in kill report.) Although he didn't know it, he had just killed the first mafioso; James Jonsell was mafia.***
***It was on this day that Edwin Ambrose made an early run for the muppetry award, for when he left the computer room for a couple of minutes, Alan Boulter saw his PM with James Jonsell, talking about trying to get the two illuminati pairs to take each other out. Surely there couldn't be 2 pairs? Alan demanded an explanation when Edwin returned, and was told that Edwin and James were one pair of illuminati who knew about a second pair, whilst the second pair didn't know about the first pair. But would Alan be convinced?***

16th May at 17:27:Matthew Danet murdered on his doorstep

After a period of quiet, livened only by the extraordinary lengths villagers will go to in order to obtain Crunchies, we once more have tragic news. Matthew Danet arrived home after a pleasant if rainy day in the hills, and although he valiantly tried to defend himself, he was unprepared for the assailant waiting for him when he returned, a band-shaped bullet striking through his body. His corpse was found naked with the words etched carefully across his back: "Take heed all who oppose the reservoir. This is your last warning."

***The mafia had been trying hard, notably spending most of the morning in the Classics faculty trying to get Angela Brasher. However this was Edwin Ambrose's kill, Danet was armed with only an umbrella as he returned home. It was a random choice of target, but Danet was in fact one of the detectives. His partner was Helena Bunton and Ambrose tried to get her (or at least chat to her on her staircase) that evening before the first illuminati check. However, he was unsucessful.***
***At midnight, both illuminati pairs were given a check. Helena gussed Mick Close and was told of his innocence, whereas the other pair guessed Edwin Ambrose, and received the following link as the result of their investigation: Special Branch Result.***

17th May at 18:31:Alan Boulter discovered dead on the banks of the Fawn

There was frenzied excitement around Edwin Ambrose's farm this evening. The body of Edwin's good friend Alan Boulter was found lying face down in the River Fawn, all adjacent land belonging to Edwin. His body was found with a suspected band-hole in the chest. Scuff marks on the ground indicate that some form of confrontation had occurred.

***Edwin claimed on IRC that he was under attack, and indeed he was, for the Special Branch team of Jacques Oswald and Michelle O'Loughlin had moved in to attack. They missed him on their first attempt, and he scurried off to a computer room to call for help. Alan responded, and after a tense moment with the Special Branch team, headed up to see Ambrose. Ambrose was already distracted by IRC and Jacques, so decided he didn't want to have to keep track of Alan as well. So he shot him. He happily claimed it was Jacques Oswald who got the kill, throwing a little suspicion off himself.***

17th May at 19:13:Jane Cultin is another victim

Tensions rose even higher when the body of Jane Cultin was also found on the grounds of the farm this evening. Her eyes lay wide open in aggresion and fear and there was a gun in her hand, suggesting that a hurried exchange of firepower had taken place. However the band-shaped bullet in her own chest did not lie. She will be greatly missed by all villagefolk, and we can only hope that an end to all this bloodshed will come soon.

***Helena turned up, thinking that anyone else who claimed to be detectives must be lying, but after a little shootout went away again. Jane Cultin was summoned, and with her wildfire charged in on Edwin Ambrose in the computer room. *BANG* Another one bites the dust....***

18th May 02:00:Michelle O'Loughlin killed returning home

It appears that the appalling murders continue. Michelle had apparantly been spending the evening at Jacques Oswald's house, and was seen leaving minutes before she was found dead at the Hal Fords over the river Fawn. She had suffered a critical wound to the neck, which villagefolk recovering the body said looked all too like another band. Many eligible bachelors of the village were seen openly weeping in the streets.

*** This was very nicely done by Edwin Ambrose. Michelle had been at Jacques, and announced on IRC that (s)he was there. Edwin guessed when (s)he would be leaving, and headed out to intercept, getting Michelle with an RBG on Jesus Lane. One illuminati from both pairs was down, but both still would get another guess at midnight that night....***

18th May 21:50:Another death on the Ambrose Farm

There was great confusion tonight as a body was discovered on Edwin Ambrose's driveway. The identity of the deceased was unknown, but the band in the chest was all too familiar. Ambrose himself appears not to been at his property at the time. More details may be released later.

***This was Jack Kolins who spent the evening on Edwin's staircase. He has no idea who the innocent was, but asked me to report it. Although I'm not sure if anyone can be entirely innocent on Edwin's staircase***
***At midnight, both sets of illuminati guessed again. Jacques Oswald investigated Mick Close, with the following result: Classified Police Information So between them, they discovered absolutely nothing new. Nothing like an efficient set of illuminati, is there?***

19th May:Jack Kolins invites everyone round

Jack Kolins today announced that all villagers and their friends are invited to join him on Jesus Bowling Green from 5.45p.m.-11.30 on Tuesday evening for a local festival he is involved with. It is rumoured that large quantities of drink may be involved, however this is surely unlikely due to the Professor being strictly teetotal. Any villagers who attend will be safe from any attacks whilst they remain on Jesus Green. Ask the Professor for more details

19th May:11.00: Mick Close involved in cycling attack

Mick Close was this morning the victim of a surprise attack, whilst cycling along Burrell's Lane. As he cycled along a mystery assailant blocked his way causing him to fall from his bike. However the attacker surprisingly chose not to finish the job off. Close was probably hallucinating when he claimed that the attacker was an admirable young lady, although he seems harmless enough after this incident.

***Close still claims that his attacker was an attractive woman, however we are still awaiting news yet on whether she has responded to the note he left.***

19th May 18:35:Jacques Oswald killed on his own doorstep

The financial future of Fawndale lies in doubt tonight after the slaying of its greatest benefactor. Jacques was found just outside his house this evening, with fatal band wounds to the shoulder. It appears he was returning to his mansion and the expression on his face suggests that he was unaware of his attacker when he died. However a crude engraving etched in his chest with a knife was that of an eye in a pyramid, the ancient symbol of the Illuminati

***Edwin Ambrose got his third illuminati after working hard all afternoon. He had gone to the CMS and seen Jacques sitting at a desk talking to people. He hence assumed he was in a supervision. As it turned out he was chatting to friends between 2 supervisions! However Edwin waited on his staircase for him to return, and shot him as Jacques climed the stairs. The etching of the symbol was showing off that he could take out illuminati, but things were about to get very interesting, all because I had been invited to dinner....***

19th May 18:50:Mick Close found dead outside Edwin's farm

Controversy once again at the Ambrose farm, as Mick Close's body was discovered on the ground at the entrance to the driveway. His arms were injured, but this appears unrelated to the cause of death; the all-too familiar bandlike bullet finished him off. He was found with a relaxed expression, it seems that he had been talking to someone just before his death. Rev. Ricardo Bracenburio witnessed the incident and tried to resuscitate him, but was too shocked to talk about what had happened.

***Mick Close had come round to the vicarage in the afternoon, and he had kindly invited me to dinner on Edwin's farm (they shared the dining room.) As we were leaving, Edwin Ambrose cycled up. I backed off, and I noticed them chatting. You could see the gun poorly concealed under Ambrose's coat. After a minute or two, Ambrose suddenly declared that he was mafa, and shot Close.***

19th May 18:55:Edwin Ambrose found collapsed with bicycle

Just as it seems events could twist no further, Edwin Ambrose was discovered next to his bicycle this evening. The lack of tyre marks on the ground suggest that he was not moving at the time of his death, and he appears to have been killed by some lethal liquid projected at him from close range. His body was found near to Mick Close's, and once more the Rev. Ricardo Bracenburio unsuccessfully tried to save the victim's life. Fawndale is a much changed place tonight...

***Now, if I was Edwin Ambrose, and had just killed someone after chatting to them for a couple of minutes, I really wouldn't have started chatting to the next assassin to walk up. But I wasn't Edwin Ambrose.... Helena Bunton saw from IRC that Jacques Oswald was dead, suspected Edwin, and raced out to Edwin's farm to try to intercept his return. On approaching, she saw Edwin, Mick and myself chatting. Mick declared he was dead, and we both backed off. Edwin, on his bicycle, started chatting to Helena. I saw Helena point and grin. It turns out that she had told him she was illuminati, and fired at him with her water psitol. The second mafia was down, and Helena was the only remaining detective.***
***At midnight, Helena made her next guess, correctly identifying David Brasher as mafia.***

20th May 17:30:David Brasher fears for his life

In an astounding turn of events, David Brasher claimed that Helena Bunton attempted to kill him earlier today. He reported to a shocked council of how he left his room and was immediately fired at. He attempted to fire back, but sustained injuries to a leg and possibly an arm. However Helena has strongly denied any such allegatiions, claiming that David is trying to frame her, and that she was working at the time in her mansion. We urge all village folk to remain vigilant as ever.

***Helena was lying, David was telling the truth. She shot him in the leg, but couldn't finish him off. David now knew Helena was after him, so she wasn't going to take any risks.
At about this time, Helena received a message written on her door saying "NO RESEVOIR HERE" with a crude picture of a dagger dripping blood. Was someone making a comment about her spelling, or could someone not spell themselves? OK, it was just David Brasher who couldn't spell.***

22nd May 21:00: An uneasy calm develops in Fawndale

A final vote on the reservoir will be taken at the council meeting next Friday. Until then, an air of peace appears to have descended.

***Everyone was getting very paranoid, and not enjoying it as much. The mafia made a couple of attempts, notably Mark Lanark trying to help Helena kill David, whereas they would have both ambushed her. Helena had discovered at some time that Mark Lanark was mafia, with her final guess. Hence she knew the identities of David and Mark heading into the duel.***

30th May:Final vote unanimous against reservoir

After dramatic events at this afternoon's council meeting, it was decided that Fawndale would veto the proposed reservoir development. Helena Bunton was instrumental in causing the council to disregard the votes of David Brasher and Mark Lanark. At this point, all the remaining villagers signed the motion condemning the reservoir, and it was thus dropped. Matthieu Garrotte was reportedly furious, but there was nothing he could do.

***The duel was held in Selwyn Gardens on Fri 30th of May, attended by all five remaining players as well as a decent crowd of spectators. Helena Bunton and Jack Kolins had made an uneasy alliance. As the duel started, Jack Kolins and David Brasher exchanged shots across the grass, with Helena and Angela Barker keeping well out of things. Whilst this was going on, Mark Lanark was hiding on the path behind Jack Kolins. David advanced, and got Jack in Mark's firing line, but Mark missed a great chance, and had to retreat. Jack chased David to the other side of the garden, where, Helena was waiting, and shot him as he arrived at the bush she was hiding behind. David Brasher was the first fatality. At this point Mark walked into the centre of the garden, knowing that he had 3 others to take down, but that they didn't know it. However, he soon found himself in a firefight with Jack, with Helena at a different angle but facing him at distance. Helena fired an awesomely accurate shot, and Dr. Mark Lanark, the last supporter of the reservoir, was dead before he knew what had hit him. At this point, the villagefolk celebrated wildly that there would be no reservoir, many going to work hard in John's for the evening.***

It appears that the future of Fawndale is secure, at least for the time being....

*** Thanks to all players for making it such an enjoyable and interesting game, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Mafia 3, sometime?***
