Only at weekends is Jane seen in Fawndale, as during the week she stays at her flat in the city where she has a high-powered job. However she spends most of her weekends walking and relaxing, and as a result knows many of the villagers well. She regards some ways of the country as outdated or primitive, but enjoys Fawndale as a place to escape to. However recently she has kept herself to herself more, and seems happy now to ignore her neghbours completely, without any apparant explanation.
