On 28 January 1997, Tony Duell gave our inaugural talk, with the above title, which was about PERQ computers. The speaker's notes and overheads are available; both of these are LaTeX documents.
On 4 March 1997, Tony Duell spoke about the PDP-11/45. The speaker's notes and overheads are available; these are LaTeX documents.
On 17 February 1998, Tony Duell spoke about the Philips P850, the machine that first got him into collecting computers, when, on Saturday 24 May 1986, he went to buy a keyboard and came away with a P850 that was being sold as scrap metal. The speaker's notes (plain text) and overheads (LaTeX) are available, as well as a handout with the P850 instruction set (plain text).
On 29 February 2000, Tony Duell spoke about the HP9100 calculator, HP's first desktop calculator (though, not having the first model, the HP9100A, he brought the second, the HP9100B, to the talk). The speaker's notes and overheads are available; these are LaTeX documents.
On 13 February 2001, Tony Duell spoke about the INMOS Transputer (bringing various Transputer components and boards, though not a complete working system). The speaker's notes and overheads are available; these are LaTeX documents. Some Transputer schematics from Dr Duell's thesis (800k PostScript) are also available.
On 26 February 2002, Tony Duell spoke about HP's handheld calculators (bringing many of those calculators to the talk). The speaker's notes for the talk are available; this is a LaTeX document. Also available are a number of plain text files by Tony Duell giving details of internals of some HP calculators: HP 35 internals, HP 45 internals, HP 55 internals, HP 65 internals, HP 'classic series' charger internals.
