The Assassins' Guild: Eliminate! 2005 Players' Agreement
I understand that ...
- This is only a game.
- Because it is a game, it is less important than many things, including
my friends, my sanity and my safety.
- Because the game is being played for fun, I will not do anything to
deliberately spoil the fun for other players. The game is not an excuse to
threaten, victimise, harass or exclude anyone.
I agree that ...
- I will be at all times courteous, respectful and sporting towards
other players and anyone else whom I encounter as a result of my activities
in the game.
- While I may attempt to deceive other players about my status, identity
and intentions, I will truthful to the best of my ability about what has
happened after-the-fact and I will expect other players to do the same.
- I will not attempt to use college authorities or other non-players to
gain advantage in the game, including alerting porters to the unwelcome
presence of people trying to kill me.
- I will not intentionally cheat or otherwise break the rules, and I
am aware that if I do my actions will be annulled and I may be removed from
the game.
- I will not at any point attempt to gain advantage in this game through
physical strength or violence, including pushing past or grappling with
other places or forcing open doors which are being held shut.
- I will be entirely truthful and open with the Umpire at all times about
my activities in the game, and will accept whatever the Umpire tells me
without argument. I expect the Umpire to have the players' and the game's
best interests at heart at all times.
I am aware that ...
- I am entirely responsible for my own actions, and this game is not an
excuse to do anything which would normally be considered irresponsible,
antisocial or dangerous.
- I cannot expect other members of society to be aware of the game taking
place, and will not do anything which could potentially cause undue alarm to
an observer. I am also aware that I may be on CCTV or otherwise under
observation at any time, and therefore that a seeming lack of observers
is not an excuse for potentially worrisome activity. I will keep anything
which could be construed as a weapon out of sight wherever possible.
- If I cannot convincingly explain what I am doing to a passing porter,
police officer or old lady, I probably should not be doing it.
I hereby give permission for ...
- Other players to try to 'kill' me using the legal methods
described in the rules.
- Other players to enter my room without warning should
I leave the door unlocked or the window open.
- The Umpire to include my name on the Assassins Guild website now and in
the future along with reports of my activities in the game.
