[CCC] Invitation to Canada House to meet Gary Goodyear

Please see below for an open invitation to meet Gary Goodyear, the Minister 
of Science and Technology, at Canada House next Wednesday. It does overlap 
with the CCC BBQ, unfortunately, but it's a neat opportunity that I'm sure 
some of you might like to take advantage of.

if you'd like to attend. Canada House is strict on security so your name 
definitely has to be on their list for you to attend.

We would like to invite you to attend a special networking reception on 
Wednesday, June 24, 2009 to meet with the Honourable Gary Goodyear, 
Minister of State (Science and Technology). The Minister's biography is

Time:  17:00 - 18:30
Location: Canada House, Trafalgar Square, London
(Please use Cockspur Street entrance)

The event will provide you with an opportunity to network informally with 
the Minister and his team as well as with representatives of the High 
Commission of Canada. You will be able to hear about recent Canadian 
initiatives designed to strengthen Canada's research and innovation 
capacity and you will meet with fellow Canadians also doing research in the 
United Kingdom. It will be a unique opportunity to explore ideas and talk 
about scientific and humanitarian research taking place in the two 
countries.

If you know of other Canadians doing PhD or PostDoc research in the UK who 
might be interested to attend but did not receive this invitation, please 
do let us know. We will forward the invitation to them. We have made every 
effort to identify as many of you as we could but know that we might have 
missed a few.

We hope you will be able to join us on June 24, 2009.
