Extra indoor practice for Regionals
28.Oct.2007
The indoor teams as chosen (mostly) by Simon were sent on the email, but they're not set in stone and could change if you particularly
impress him tomorrow night. Or if you chump it like a n00b. "Tomorrow" is 8-9pm in Hills
Road 6th form college (map http://www.hrsfc.ac.uk/contact/map.asp ) and you
should be there at 7.45pm with £2.50, light and dark top, indoor shoes and a
disc if you have one. Practice is advanced, and open to anyone, not just people
coming to regionals, so if you want to play any more indoors in the future
(mixed regionals for example, or any open events) you should come. That sounded
more threatening than I intended...

Winter College League
08.Oct.2007
It's time to start up the winter college league. Could you please send an email to Nathan (nk294) with
all the teams you wish to enter asap. The exact format and timing of the
league this year will depend on the number of teams entering so the sooner
this is known the better.
The situation has not changed since last year regards playing on Jesus Green, so could you please also email him the pitches you have at your disposal. |

Freshers Fair
01.Oct.2007
Freshers Week is upon us! This means we have one week to seduce / cajole / kidnap as many freshers
(and other people who have not been "indoctrinated" into the frisbee-loving
world) and with a combination of impressive skills, impressive socialising and
subtle forms of mind-control, make them think we are the coolest thing outside
of Fonzie's underpants. For this week only, we will therefore be having
multiple practices / beginner sessions / gratuitous opportunities to show off.
Check the programme for the week here.

New student and open captains
23.Aug.2007
Apparently it's a good idea for teams to know who's shouting at them from the
sidelines and whether it's worth paying attention to them or not. As such, I
strongly recommend paying attention to Simon and Paul during this coming year,
as they will be student and open captains respectively. May the blood of their
enemies run freely and their offspring be numerous.

SB success at Tour 2
16.July.2007
SB took two squads to Tour 2, held in Mansfield.
The women's team had a very challenging weekend as they were competing in the top 8 pool, in their second participation ever in the women's division. With a set of very hard games against the top seeds and a team that got reduced to 10 women (after two injuries) they managed once again to stay top 8. Congratulations! The open team had a cracking weekend with solid and comfortable wins in most of their games to qualify for Division A. We're all waiting for tour 3 now, to consolidate our positions… |

A New Blue...
21.Jan.2007
With the state of Jesus Green literally shaking the ground beneath the great frisbee foot of Strange Blue, the Exec got to thinking about what we've got here, how good it is and where to take it. For a sport that traditionally struggles with being marginalised, we've got a huge level of
involvement and commitment, an increasing position in the community and a wealth of talent. So what to do? Read more...

College league format change
14.Jan.2007
College league games have changed their format. The use of Jesus Green has been limited during the winter months, mainly during Lent term, in order to preserve the grass. As a consequence, large events such as the college winter league and cuppers can no longer take place in that or any other public parks. This extends to college practices that were using Jesus Green or Parkers piece and to strange blue practices alike, especially when the grass is considerably wet. College league teams’ captains will have a meeting soon to discuss the new format. This new format will require colleges to provide playing grounds for the rest of the winter league season. More will follow soon.
