Links

Like the rest of the site, this page is a collection of links to sites I think are funny, interesting, or just so weird they deserve a second look. If you have any links you think would fit into one of those categories (or, indeed ones that don't fit into any category), please email me by clicking on this link.

Weird Stuff

Rathergood.com
The lair of the crab of ineffable wisdom. Also home to the Moon Song, the Viking Kittens, the Adventures of Blode and various other twisted, grotesque and usually hilarious Flash animations.
B3ta
The home of web weirdness - a veritable cornucopia of bizarre... ness. Or whatever. It's very strange and very funny.

Funny Stuff

Engrish
Engrish is the strange variation on English that appears on so many Japanese signs, products, manuals, T-shirts and other items. This site provides your daily dose of Engrish, with such gems as the warning "Keep knife out of children".
Amiright
Amiright is, AFAIK, the largest collection of misheard lyrics, parody songs and general music mockery on the internet. From classics such as "There's a bathroom on the right" and "Excuse me while I kiss this guy," to a panoply of other howlers, and lists of real lyrics that are stupid, inappropirate or just offensive, this site is the number one for musical humour.
Songbook of the Whills
Steven Cavanagh is a legendary parody-writer and singer; alright, maybe not legendary, but he is pretty famous among the parody-writing community. He's responsible for a huge number of Star Wars parodies, such as "Only a Gungan" and "Goodbye Qui-Gon Jinn", all of which are collected here. Some are even available as MP3s.

Webcomics

Megatokyo
The greatest webcomic in existence. No, really. The manga-style tale of Piro and Largo, beautifully drawn, always funny, and usually slightly off the wall. Occasionally so far off the wall it's on the ceiling. Loaded with in-jokes and computer game references. Anyone speak l33t?
Sluggy Freelance
Psychopathic rabbits, weird inventions, poinging ferrets, vampires, time travel, demons and parodies of almost everything you can imagine - and the art is fantastic too! If you haven't heard of Bun-bun, Torg, and Riff before, make sure you take a look. And if you have, make sure you take a look again.
Antihero for Hire
Set in a dystopian future city (what isn't these days?), this is a tale of angsty antihero Shadehawk, a bounty hunter who patrols Triumph City at night - in sunglasses.
Scarygoround
Quirky is not quite the word to describe this comic - you'll either laugh your socks off or just look at it in bemusement and disbelief. Personally, it's given me more "whaaaaaat?!" moments than any other webcomic. That's a good thing.
Order of the Stick
A D&D-based webcomic with a distinctive stick-figure style (hence the cunning name) and some jokes which are either a) hilarious, if you've played any D&D or b) mystifying and geeky.

Animutation / Fanimutation

For those of you not aware of the animutation phenomenon, it all started with Neil Cicierega's Hyakugojyuuichi - a collection of badly-animated images, mostly photographs and screen captures of cartoon characters, accompanied by incomprehensible Japanese music (to which helpful subtitles are provided :) ). Strangely, this became rather popular, and spawned a host of (in some cases, much better) imitators. The famous one is, of course, Irrational Exuberance, or Yatta!, but they all share the same basic features - misheard (often Japanese) lyrics, bizarre animations, and Colin Mochrie.

Note - you will need Flash player to view these.

Irrational Exuberance (Yatta)
By VeLoSo - the best animutation there is. No-one can beat the sheer randomness of Yatta!
French Erotic Film (Colin Mochrie vs. Jesus H Christ)
By Andrew Kepple. Neither French nor erotic, but very, very odd and very self-referential. Oh dear... I almost used the word "postmodern" there. I need to lie down.
Plan 9 from Underpants (Colin Mochrie vs. Jesus H Christ Episode II)
By Andrew Kepple. The sequel to the above, and even funnier and more self-referential.
