Torben makes another appearance at the 606. Steve Rubie and his awesome Latin band Samara were playing some hot Brazilian tunes with the fabulous vocalist Liliana Chachian. In the third set, Steve asked Torben to join in for a jam: It was so cool. Steve was brilliant as usual on the flute and the legend Dill Katz was on bass!

Torben co-forms new Latin jazz band Pueblo Latino!
Swing is great, but we also love the salsa, bossa nova and calypso. Our new band has a four-piece horn front line (trumpet, alto and tenor sax, trombone). Combine this with a hard-core rhythm section of drums, percussion, bass and piano and we have a serious Latin vibe! Watch this space for news of progress.

Ronnie Scotts Debut!
Torben makes a stunning debut at Ronnie Scott's sharing the stage with Canadian Crooner Matt Dusk.

So there we were in our front row seats taking in Dusks rendition of Back in Town, when he announces his next number On the Street Where You Live. I made some generally approving noises and he turns to me and says: You know it? Come on stage with me then! Before I realised what was happening hed pulled me up there and handed me the mic. Well, he got more that he bargained for because I nailed it he was so shocked that he forgot his lyrics and gave me back the microphone to complete the entire verse. The crowd went wild! Afterwards we had a really nice chat and various punters told me how great it was.
