Computer Science

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably not at Cambridge for a Natural Sciences degree but for a Computer Science one. Nonetheless, you are still a proper member of WilSoc due to studying NatSci Maths and potentially another NatSci module, and can still enjoy all the benefits, even in later years. I studied NatSci Physics as my option in the first year, and this year my modules are all from the CompSci Tripos.

You are likely to be recommended a lot of reading to accompany your lectures. From my experience, there isn’t enough time to read everything. However, the books I found most useful last year were “Introduction to Algorithms” (Cormen, Leiserson, Rivest, Stein) 3rd Edition and “How to Think Like a Mathematician” (Kevin Houston).
