The First
MSM (MSM99), organized by Prof. M. Akhavan at Sharif University of Technology
in Tehran, during 27-30 September 1999¸ with 200 papers by 400 researchers
from 50 countries, was a great success. The conference had a scientific
and cultural atmosphere of a high standard, and the proceedings were
published by the World Scientific in 2000. In 2001 the 2nd MSM conference
(MSM01) was organized by Prof. S. Mahmood in Yarmouk University in Jordan.
The proceedings were published by Physica B 321(2004). In 2003 the 3rd
MSM (MSM03) was organized by Prof. A. Cheikhrouhou in Tunisia. The proceedings
were published by Physica Status Solidi C 1 (2004), and finally, in
2005 the 4th MSM (MSM05) was organized by Dr. Toufik in Morocco. They
were somehow the same with a more or less similar statistics.
