SBB:
| The typical modern IC train in red and green. A medium length pendelzug like this probably wouldn't have a restaurant coach in real life, but full length to too long for even my imaginary layout! The last coach is in the very newest livery which I haven't bothered to obtain in large quantities because Roco make it so hard... It should really be push-pull and have a driving-trailer but surprisingly no major manufacturer makes one! Roco's fault again... |
| This EC train has the fascinating panorama coach with extra large windows for the standard beautiful Swiss scenery - can anyone imagine the need for this in the UK? (We probably need coaches with no windows...). The locomotive (460 033-4) is in very smart 'Hatband' livery, one of several such liveries it has worn in real life. The restaurant coach has catering by Mitropa and a nice purple colour scheme. |
| To increase capacity the SBB introduced push-pull double-decker trains in what I always think of as Fresian livery. In N scale this train is still fictitious because Hobbytrain have still not yet released the coaches (we are promised 2007 so I shall add a review when they finally arrive). The end of the driving-trailer is cleverly designed to look like the front of the Re 460, although new 'children zone' logos have appeared on this coach in real life. |

| My fictitious ES 64 U2 in BLS Cargo livery on a BLS push-pull train consisting of repainted ex-Swiss Express coaches will be at home on the Swiss part of my layout but look a bit odd in Austria. Thank goodness for reality defenestration since the models are to such a high standard! (see my review) |
| The best liveried locomotive of all - the ÖBB 1116 250-0 'Mozart' celebrates the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth in 1756 and was specially commissioned to be part of the Austria-wide celebrations in 2006. |
