Constructed several years ago as a very ambitious toy, and featuring several excruciatingly tight curves crammed into multilevel tunnels. I've never wanted to model a slow branch line so it has a double express line, two sidings in tunnels and a direction-reversal section. Featuring a custom built controller with integrated point switches and LEDs to display power direction and point settings (I happen to know an extremely good electronics engineer...!)

The lake is made of resin and although all the terrain was modelled (tall mountains at both ends) and painted/flocked no further progress was ever made and the layout is still without flora and fauna of any kind, and not a single building or signal has been added! (It's like a railway across the moon or a desert...!)
^ An SBB Re 460 EC train crosses the primary bridge over the resin lake. With this scenery the SBB are mad to include Panorama coaches! ^
Fortunately barren climates are perfect for experimentation and so my ingenious home made catenary will be tested here first before I begin construction on the hyper ambitious layout of the future! Also when originally designed a station was forgotten: so it gets a bit boring to operate after a while! (And as you can see there's no chance of installing one long enough for a 10 coach EC train alas...)
^ The mountains really are tall! I think this layout could look really good if finished off, but alas it's too small for express trains! ^
