Keen to savour the Earth's cultural diversity, the Doctor and Charlotte decide to go for a Chinese meal, but en route to Peking, the TARDIS systems begin to malfunction, forcing the Doctor to make an emergency landing.

But with no control over the materialisation, the Doctor has no idea where the TARDIS will land, and to their dismay he and Charlotte find themselves stranded in 18th century North America, with no useful technology for another 150 years...

Unknown to the Doctor, his recent encounter back in the 20th Century has not gone unnoticed either, and as he desperately tries to find a way to get the TARDIS functioning again, a host of his most notorious adversaries are converging on present-day Earth, and it seems unlikely that anything will be able to stop such a diabolical collaboration...

Scripted and produced towards the end of 1995, this story was requested and initiated as a media studies final-year project, and should have formed four 20-minute episodes. Unfortunately funding and time limitations forced the project to be cut short, and as a result only episode 1 was completed.

Some sequences also were used in a different media-studies project, producing a 'Doctor Who' interactive board game. Key elements of this original plot for 'The Deadly Alliance' were ultimately used in Chris Hoyle's final four-part story, 'Masterplan', also available to download.
