Aims and Membership
- The aim of Isis: the society for 20th-century music (“Isis Music Society”, “Isis”) is to perform and promote music from the 20th century, and to put on at least one orchestral concert a term consisting primarily of repertoire from this period. Isis also aims to promote neglected and unusual works from all periods.
- Isis also aims to promote the accessibility of music-making in Cambridge and to help render the opportunity to participate in and enjoy music available to all.
- Membership of Isis shall be open to any member of Cambridge University; others may join at the discretion of the committee. Anyone who participates in Isis activities shall be considered a member.
- There will be no compulsory auditions for positions in the orchestra. However, new members are invited to audition if they wish, for the committee to best assess their places.
- There will be no membership fee, in line with item 1b above.
- The committee may revoke membership in exceptional circumstances; in this event, a majority of the committee in favour would be required. In addition, any member may terminate their membership at any time.
-
