Architecture in Helsinki are such a fun band. I’ve seen them a few times live now and the crowds at their shows couldn’t be nicer .

  2. Kim Eichstädt Says:

Tullycraft are the absolute best! I love them so much!

Enjoyed your list, Hanna. If you enjoy Neutral Milk Hotel, you may want to give Beirut a listen if you haven’t heard them before, and if you like Go Sailor you might like Dressy Bessy.

  4. Christopher Jansen Says:

I’ve heard some Trachtenburg Family and I didn’t think much of them but, I really like Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Mirah, The Mountain Goats, Tullycraft, and Neutral Milk Hotel. All of those bands are fantastic!

  5. Ben Konrath Says:

I can’t believe that somebody else likes Casiotone for the Painfully Alone :) Do you have a last.fm page? I’d be interested in seeing what you listen to regularly.

  6. hmw26 Says:

I do have a Last.fm page. However it’s not all that representative as I do most of my music listening on my way to work, and I can’t get my iPod to talk to Last.fm.

  7. stephen o'grady Says:

    There are a couple of options for iPod –> Last.fm syncing, if you’re interested. 1, 2, 3

Most seem to require iTunes, regrettably.

  8. iain Says:

I ended up listening to a lot of those bands in 2006 too. weird. I did see The Pipettes before Christmas, I was so disappointed. But oh well, each to their own

  9. Doug Says:

Have you ever listened to any Freezepop? Probably an acquired taste, but I thought I’d mention them.

  10. Anon Says:

Having seen the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players play in Bristol a few years ago, all I can say is that they’re fantastic.

If you liked them, turn you attention to Antifolk, and Jeffrey Lewis, etc.

    – Thomas.

Me too on the Go Sailor. Also Dressy Bessy!
