belle and sebastian
I missed Belle and Sebastian when they came to Philly the weekend before last. However, NPR has a recording of their D.C. concert online here. It’s very, very good. (Thanks to Fernando and Steve for pointing it out.)

Oh, it wasn’t intentional! By the time I found they were playing, the concert was sold out.

I highly recommend ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister: Live At The Barbican’ … Top tunes!

Thanks for the link, I hadn’t noticed that. The concert in Chicago this past weekend was fantastic.

Thanks in turn to you for pointing it out. Planet Gnome isn’t my usual stop for B&S news, but I probably would’ve missed this otherwise. :)

Many thanks for this :) Only started listening to B&S yesterday thanks to a friend lending me a CD, so this feeds my new addiction nicely!

I’ve exchanged email with them for several years and suggested they should use the name “Sukie” in a song a couple of years ago. (Sukie is my wife’s name) … hmmm … one can only wonder

Steve, that’s very cool! I had no idea you were in email contact with them. When I heard their song “Sukie in the Graveyard” I actually thought of your Sukie but it never occurred to me that it might be anything more than coincidence!

It isn’t autobiographical:-) I just suggested the name as something that is neat, underused and belonging to my wife.
Oddly enough people seem to name their dogs after Sukie (she is really good with animals, but…)

Heh, yes, I figured it wasn’t autobiographical. :-)
We actually had a dog named Zuki (though not Sukie). Sukie (and Zuki, for that matter) is definitely a great, though underused, name!

I have always preferred their earlier animated works, particularly the touching character of Inspector Garcia.

Hmm, I didn’t even know you had a blog, and now it turns out you are a B&S fan too. Yeah, I missed their Philly concert in about the same manner. Just in case you don’t know, they are playing at the Battery Park in NYC on July 4 and then again near DC a couple days later. The Battery park concert is free, but you have to reserve tickets.

Hi, I’m a girl from Spain, yesterday I found this blog and this post by chance, and I’m very grateful for this link to the mp3 of Bell & Sebastian, I love they and here is difficult to go to a concert of them
Thanks!
