London 0 - Cambridge Blues 30
As the men's lacrosse team looks ahead to this weekend's Varsity match, it can be fairly proud of some good momentum in 2008. A fairly disappointing Michaelmas term saw the Blues scraping victories against weaker opposition, and ultimately ended in a poor 13–6 defeat at home to Oxford. After Christmas, however, the team has been more prolific, scoring 77 goals, to 33 conceded, in six games. The result has been to produce five solid wins on the road, whilst our sole defeat came in Cambridge. The Blues can take heart, therefore, from the fact that Varsity will be fought in Oxford this year.
Cambridge Blues 14 – 3 Oxford Blues
After a long holiday break, normal service was resumed by Cambridge against their oldest adversary. It has been a stunning season for the Women’s Blues, undefeated and runaway leaders of their league. However, no game is won without focus and hard work, and Cambridge are well aware they cannot afford any complacency. Having beaten Oxford once already before this match, Cambridge will face them twice more this season, once in the Varsity match and then a few days later in the BUSA semi-final.

Cambridge 6 - 5 Northampton
We were up against the top of the league, Northampton, who were yet to lose - so tension was high. We were at home, however, and were unwilling to give up our unbeaten record at Barton Road. Again, Cambridge failed to start with all pistons firing; a quick break leading to an early Northampton goal.
Seeking to set right this mistake, Mark retaliated with a superb equalizer. The defence were left short a few times but with some first-class communication led by Ellie we stood firm against the onslaught.
