About CUYS

The Cambridge University Yoga Society organises weekly yoga classes open to ALL members of the University, taught by professional teachers instructing in a range of yoga styles. Currently, we run classes during term only but we will arrange classes during the holidays if there is enough demand. The different yoga styles vary quite considerably--from the meditative focus in Iyengar to the dynamic powerful character of the Ashtanga practice. To find out more about the different styles, click here.

Complete beginners are welcome at all classes, at anytime throughout the term. Mats (and sometimes blocks and belts) are provided at all classes, but please bring your own mat if you have one as classes do get full. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothing as you would if going to the gym.

There's no need to register for classes, or to be a formal member of CUYS if you want to attend a class. You can just turn up.

Drop-in classes cost £4, and sets of 4 classes are available for £12 (referred to as a term card, which are valid only for the term in question and non-refundable). Please arrive approximately ten minutes before the start of the class to secure yourself a place as there are capacity limits in some of the venues.

If you would like to get involved with CUYS as a college rep, please email our Secretary.
