The Wren Choir

Directed by Sarah MacDonald

The Wren Choir is an inter-collegiate Cambridge graduate ensemble, open to all graduate students in the university. Formed in June 2006 in Pembroke (hence its name), by Jonathan Wallis, the group aims to provide an outlet for choral music for graduates during the periods of the year when many of the regular Cambridge choirs are in recess. The Wren Choir perform regularly out of Full Term in a variety of formats, and often tackle music not frequently heard in Cambridge. The choir is based at Pembroke College.

The choir recently hosted a rare liturgical performance of Reinhard Keiser's Markus Passion, and the UK premiere of his Christmas Oratorio, and over the summer embarked on a series of services showcasing - among much else - the sacred music of the 20th century Danish composer Vagn Holmboe. Details of upcoming performances can be found below.

If you would like more information about the choir, or would like to arrange an audition, please contact Sarah.
