social

The band is well known for its friendly and relaxed atmosphere which cannot help but give birth to many fantastic social occasions. Post-rehearsal colonisation of a local pub ('The Castle' or 'The County') is somewhat of an institution. Meetings for drinks, lunches and curries are very much encouraged!

The pinnacle of the UCCB social calendar is reached in the Lent term with our annual dinner - a very stylish black-tie evening. Photos from one of these can be seen below.

Some the best opportunities for social occasions occur when the band is all together for some period of time, as our past highly successful tours will testify. Both 'Blackpool 1997' and 'York 2001' proved to be fantastic experiences for all involved. Check out the linked tour pages for more info.

We had a joint concert, followed by the pub, with the Univeristy of York Concert Band in St Gile's Church on 7th May 2005. We hope to return the favour and join them in York for a concert sometime soon.

Keep an eye on the upcoming events noticeboard for more details of social events to come, or contact a member of the committee, with any enquiries or suggestions.
