The information in these page is in-character. Some of it may be distorted or false, but it is an accurate reflection of IC perceptions of those in the organisation. This information would be known to the lay follower or the priest, but it would not be known to the average joe on the street. It can be found out IC if you spend enough time hanging around in the relevant places and being nice to the relevant people – inform the refs if this is the case. Azrael

Azrael is a god of death, in fact his followers claim that he is the personification of death - and hence above other gods, for even gods can die. His main concern is that everyone should die at their appointed time – with assistance from his followers in stubborn cases. He has only a few priests in the city, but they are active in persuing and destroying undead. Bodies are often taken to the Azraelites for burial, to ensure they are laid to rest.

Balance

Balance is the god of neutrality and eliminating extremes. In orderly societies they will work to support the disorderly elements, in lands that are ruled by evil they will crusade in the cause of good. They work to preserve order and balance within the pantheons, being a part of both pantheons but subject to neither pantheon head.

Bast

Bast is the goddess of cats and self preservation. She teaches the value of the self.

Crafter

Crafter teaches that what is done in this life will be reflected once the soul is laid to rest. He is primarily a god of the peasants, teaching that hard work will be rewarded. Recently the church has schismed, with the more proactive branch seeking an improvement in the lives of the faithful in this world also.

Humact

Humact is the God of Honourable Death. His followers adhere to the three pillars of the faith: honour, truth and smiting undead.

Justice

Justice is the god that arose from the merging of two older gods in summer 1289 - Astalon Zorbina and Ishmund. The church of Justice runs the law courts.

Luca

Luca is goddess of dreams and nightmares. Her followers are widely regarded as wierd and wacky if not potentially dangerous, although most are peaceable enough.

Mallan

Mallan is the god of upholding strength, and of leadership. His followers will seek to suppress weakness where it holds communities back. His followers are few in Grantabrugge, but not necessarily uninfluential.

Morvana

Morvana is a Norse goddess of awareness and knowledge in battle. She represents perceptiveness and wisdom, and is associated with the interests of women. Certain of her followers swear chastity, and the Temple (located in the Norscan district) runs a shelter for women escaping arranged marriages. Morvanian scouts are legendary.

Sordan is the god of pain and enlightment through suffering.

St John

St John is a god of bringing aid to the deserving, and of healing. His church is the largest in Wessex, located on the river (in the modern day location of Johns College).

The Children of the Light

The Children of the Light are a Teutonic paramilitary group who seek to protect the populace from magical or spiritual abuse - as such they are suspicious of most magic, and will hunt down necromancers and priests of other faiths they deem 'evil'.

Vivamort

Vivamort is the god of undeath. He is associated with the occurance of zombies and other necromantic creatures. Worship of Vivamort was only recently legalised in Wessex. There have been several attacks on the city by necromancers in recent years, and followers of Vivamort have been hunted by the Children, Humacti and Azraelites amongst others.
