The Badger (the nine of diamonds) is a well-known aspect of bridge, at least in this university... To oust the badger is to win the trick containing the D9 with an Ace. We were getting a bit annoyed with this, cos it hardly ever comes up (= maybe once in 4 hands), so, well, so that they don't feel left out, the nines of clubs, hearts and spades have been given their own small mammal identities...
