The 'Lady Frances Singers' are a new and exciting consort group founded at Sidney Sussex in Lent 2009 and present to you their very first concert. Named after the College's foundress, the Lady Frances Singers comprises some of the top singers from around the University with the aim of exploring repertoire from all corners of the choral music spectrum. In their inaugural concert, the music is presented in two very contrasting sections, showing the ranging ability of the group. Firstly, a selection of motets by the great composers from the time of Lady Frances and secondly, a selection of English, Irish, Socttish and even American folk-song arrangements as a lighter way to end the evening. An ideal break from revision!
