Welcome to the site of the Sidney Sussex College Music Society.

Sidney’s musical reputation is growing by the second. Since the 2006 appointment of its first-ever Director of Music, Dr. David Skinner, a variety of new musical opportunities have come into being. Not only is the Chapel Choir flourishing, but the past two years have seen the formation of a staggering number of new and diverse ensembles and projects.

Already this year there have been a number of exciting happenings in the musical life at Sidney. Highlights so far include the performance of Fauré's Requiem by the chapel choir in collaboration with the Sidney chamber orchestra, and an ambitious performance of Satie's mammoth day long piano piece Vexations, which sparked international interest. This summer we are continuing with our recital series - expect piano and vocal recitals, string ensembles, a debut concert for our new female close harmony group, and more. Why not get into the summer mood early with traditional madrigals sung by the chapel choir on May day morning? Or wind down at the end of term with an afternoon of musical entertainment and relaxation in the Sidney gardens at our summer garden party

See the calendar section for more details on upcoming events, or contact the Music Society President, Paul Kilbey, for further information.
