College CouncilIntroductionCollege Council is a committee chaired by the Master and containing many fellows and members of the college staff, including the Graduate Tutor, the Bursar and the Domestic Bursar, which meets regularly to make decisions relating to the running of the College. Most important decisions affecting the students of the college will be made at these meetings (but equally, much of the discussion has little direct relevance to the student body). Matters for disucssion in College Council have included the redevelopment of college accommodation, levels of the Kitchen Fixed Charge, financial awards and prizes for students, the provision of bike storage, student election procedures and health and safety policy. Permission to use college venues for public events are usually approved by the Council. The SSCSU President, two JCR representatives and one MCR representative attend the meetings to represent the student body. Agenda and minutesThe agenda and minutes of each College Council meeting are not published on the college website but printed copies are sent to the MCR executive officers (please contact the President or Treasurer to request to see them). If you have any comments about items in the agenda or minutes, or there is an issue that you believe should be taken to College Council, please do not hesitate to contact the MCR representative to College Council and the Governing Body (which is usually the President but can be a separate post). 17 May 2009 |
