Apologies:- Julie, Laura
Absences:- (none)
Minutes:- Max

Start:- 13:27

- Emily citing the constitution says that meetings should be publicized to the choir and that anyone should be able to attend

- Introduction (Emma)

- Presentation of posts (old committee)

- It is agreed that music should be discussed by the music co-ordinator with the committee and suggestions should be taken from the choir. The committee shall together decide concert order and soloists. There is agreement in favour of keeping the solo suggestion box.

- Emily proposes the creation of the committee post of concert co-ordinator. The concert co-ordinator will be responsible for CD production.

- There is a need for a new webmaster. It is agreed that Ugo will continue in this role for this term. Tizzy volunteered to fill the above role subsequently. The responsibility for overseeing this next year falls to the secretary (Max).

- Emma asked the secretary (Max) to take charge of the Freshers' Fair application and the posters and the programs for concerts.

- Emma clarified that it is Rev policy not to undertake out of term performances.

- Emma asked for minutes to be circulated to the committee and the webmaster to be posted on the Cambridge Rev website.

- It was suggested to undertake a joint social with Oxford Rev. The national issue of the non-involvement of Royal Holloway Rev was mentioned by Tizzy.

- It was asked if we had the budget to purchase some microphones.

- Rebekah said we had made £900 from the GSM concert.

- It was debated whether we should hold our next Michaelmas concert at ADC or not. There was an issue with the 37% overheads.

- It was said that we still lacked a female environment secretary.

- Emma cited the issue of integration within the choir at the start of Michaelmas term. As well it was suggested that we need to encourage people to participate, especially in warm-ups and pauses for thought.

- Emma, Ugo and Liz cited the issue of pause for thought being sidelined in the run-up to concerts. Ellie agrees to stop rehearsing at 9.20 in order to allow this to happen.

- Tizzy cites the importance of being part of Rev National.

- Emma cites the importance of helping struggling Rev choirs.

- Emma summarizes that we need a webmaster, CD producer, a female environment secretary and a band co-ordinator. Andy Ball and Tom Woolford are suggested as band co-ordinator candidates. The music co-ordinators and Tore bring up the issue of band rehearsals, especially regarding brass. It is suggested that brass starts rehearsing with the choir 4 weeks before the concert.

- Emily says that a concert co-ordinator should be in charge of the PA, CDs and staging.

- Emma emphasizes the importance of knowing our roles, but yet being able to help each other.

- The committees discuss concert venues, and conclude that ADC is too small nowadays for us. We must seek appropriately-sized venues and make early bookings. We cited a shortage of time rehearsing for the Michaelmas concert, as well as an unstable choir. The problem is cited that people perform in this concert having attended very few rehearsals. The secretary suggests fixing a list of performers at the last rehearsal, but the rest of the committees disagree.

- It is debated whether a concert should be held at the end of Lent term or the start of Easter term.

- Song and concert length are mentioned as areas that may need fine-tuning.

- Max cites the fact that pressure in Easter term makes having a concert hard.

- The Cambridge contribution to the Rev National Christmas CD is discussed, and a decision is made to stick with the 2004-2005 committee's decision: ‘She Will Bring Forth A Son' by Andy Farquhar from the Michaelmas Concert 2005. Tizzy says she will try to get us a second song- Santa Claus and O Come O Ye Faithful (both arranged by Jamie Ferguson) are decided as joint second choice.

- Emma concludes this part of the meeting.

End:- 14:32

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12–14
