Meeting begins at 16:10

RSWhere's Andy? — we need CDs
New Committee — paper nominations; committee to discuss; handover after the concert. People need to consider whether to accept...
EBNeed to be voted in by beginning of March — 20th February?
DPapers next Monday?
AllYes
JDConstitution requires two weeks' notice?
AllOnly to vote to approve new committee
EBLet's tell the choir this Monday that nominations open the following week
EFCould ask Jo from Norwich to be National Rep?
RSOn 13th we will issue paper for nominations; then we will discuss, appoint, get their permission and changeover
EBNeed to do solos — leave this until the 20th
EF+MROpen up nominations for solos this week
RST-shirts and hoodies? People want hoodies this term. How many people are going to want them?
Andy and Helen arrive
JDItems Max wanted to make:
Confirm we are doing Cabaret? — (All: 'yes')
More percussionists into the band to provide variety?
TWDrum kit OR bongos and shakers (maybe Bethany's song?)
RSBack to T-shirts: action Tizzy — people will email Tizzy on Monday
EFYes, no problem
EBCabaret — we are going to have a LOT of acts (4 from the committee)
JDMine will be open to non-committee members. Teenage mutant ninja turtles song... It will be a dance...
EBWe should have only 6–7 Cabaret acts; we have 13 songs
TWDo we need a mechanism for deciding between acts?
JDMight give mine a miss...
ABHow do we decide? Different types of pieces? Different styles?
EFWe could recommend some do it at the Garden Party...
EBWe could do a song that we haven't started — perhaps 'I'll Be There'?
Diane has to go. Bye-bye Diane.
EB'I'll Be There' will be committee. Emily has friends in Christian Union who want to do a Cabaret act.
AllWe shouldn't let them: we have too many acts and they're not in Rev...
EBI can't get the Homerton Drumkit this term
RSI'll try to get the Trinity Hall kit — action Bex
TWI'll do posters and programmes for the concert — action Tom
EBErrol to do a song?
AllWe have too many acts, so see how it goes
ABI don't know about CDs. Haven't seen anything from the Christmas Concert — the guy who recorded it properly needs to give me something. I have a DVD of the Christmas Concert. I still haven't dealt with last Easter's — will do this weekend and then we need to get them produced. Get a company? Or friends? — action Andy. Do we want to sell DVDs of the concerts? We need a DVD burner; they're slower to make — or we could get a company to make them. General banter about Helen falling off the stage. Need to contact Toby — action Andy. I don't know when they will be done for... A week before the concert...
RSStaging?
AB"Andrew and his problems". I haven't got staging yet. Need to plan sound and lighting. I need to go in the GSM — our choir is bigger than before
RSWe need staging for maybe 90 people
ABStaging last time not good enough and safe enough. Not sure how staging is going to work. Front row on the floor then raked. Choir shouldn't sit in stalls; rather in side-pews. James Berry has agreed to help with sound again. I will go with him to GSM to figure it out — action Andy. Lighting — no fancy set-up, but some spots to use.
EFLoads of lights at ADC but we'd have to hire them.
ABI'll see if I can borrow them (maybe City Church); otherwise we'll need to hire them. Lights for the band? In the corner again... Can we move the front pews? Need to arrange to have pianos etc? Piano in the middle?
RSWe'll work this out after the Cabaret acts are decided. We're not going to have nearly as much time to set up the sound etc; can only be there to set up from 5pm I think
ABWe should be able to start by 4pm. I've got an exam on that day
EBWill the new committee shadow?
AllYes. They Will. Definitely.
RSAre we going to buy microphones?
ABI haven't had time to look into it. We have time, but borrowing is probably best. There is a good equipment budget for Student groups available from CUSU. We need microphones, cables, stands, speaker unit for small events, a sound desk?
Ellie leaves to go to Chapel
MR Where would we put the equipment?
ABStorage space rent? We could collect money from the choir through a yearly sub? This is in the constitution. Storage in one of the Grad's houses? Clip on mics, DI boxes also cost.
TWNot keen on yearly subs.
HDonations?
RSDo we need to use the AGM to change the constitution — e.g. remove one Social Secretary and formalise Concert and Band Coordinator position
EFNational are creating a uniform constitution for all choirs to abide by.
ABCDs and concerts — the Copyright factor. It has been ignored. This isn't in line with Christian values. We can sell performances (i.e. our concert) but not when we sell CDs. It costs money. Do national have a 'blanket' to cover us? — action Tizzy to find out National Rev's position. Have we decided what to charge for the concert? Do we want to do different rates?
MR£3 students, £5 adults?
ABThe venue cost has gone up; but we'll still be in a lot of profit.
MRBut there are lots of costs throughout the year. We'll discuss this some other time...
EFWe need to raise money for National; shall we tie it in to the concert? Slave auction takes up time and organisation. Sweeties in the jar or something like that — interval of concert? We could top up £100 out of our profits. From the constitution we need to think about what our choir is about etc then inform National about our ideas.
ABOk so subs could only be taken from the choir "at the discretion of the current committee"? Voluntary...
Jonny leaves
EFIt cannot be obligatory. A bowl for juice break? Website — is it my job?
ABIt is the job of the secretary. I've sort-of taken over and updated song list for this term. The message board has been removed. If it was brought in, it needs some basic form of security to stop automatic robots spamming.
AllLets not bring it back
RSWe need the minutes on the website. We also need to announce an AGM. To change the constitution to make positions official, get rid of subs
ABShould we examine the constitution?
RSWe could leave it all to the next committee? A need to co-opt people on to the committee for the period of the committee.
Meeting ends at 17:45

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12–14
