Welcome to the website of the Chapel Choir of Queens’ College, Cambridge.

Queens’ College Chapel Choir is one of the leading mixed-voice choirs in Cambridge. The Choir prides itself on the freshness of its interpretation, its commitment to quality, the broad scope of its repertoire and its friendly, social atmosphere.

The choir is around 24-strong, and between one third and one half of the members are Choral Scholars; the others are volunteers, predominantly from Queens’ but with some from other Colleges.

On Sundays, the focus is on late-19th and 20th-century music and the Binns organ; music at Monday’s Compline alternates between (and occasionally mixes) 16th-century and contemporary repertoire. A variety of different types of service takes place midweek: evensong, vespers, themed services and a Catholic mass. Baroque music is often the focus, following the specialism of the Director of Music, and the choir is regularly joined by a group of student instrumentalists, the Queens’ Chapel Players, enabling the liturgical performance of concerted music by Monteverdi, Purcell, Bach and other Baroque composers. The Choir is also currently commissioning new works for choir, string quartet and organ.
