The Chamber Orchestra

The Peterhouse Chamber Orchestra, founded by Matt Lomas, will celebrate its second birthday in October.

We would like to welcome any freshers - strings, wind or brass - to join us, and to play in our Michaelmas Concert which will be held on Saturday 17th November.

Rehearsals will be on Mondays from 6.45 - 9.00 and Saturdays from 6.45 - 8.00

The Chamber Orchestra has performed works such as Beethoven's 4th Symphony and the Egmont Overture, and Ravel's Bolero. In Michelmas Term 2007 the Orchestra will perform parts of Bizet's Carmen, the Rossini overture, La Scala di Seta, and one of Mozart's Piano Concertos. The concert will take place on Saturday the 17th of November with rehearsals throughout term. If you are interested in playing with us, and we are always looking for new recruits especially in the strings and the brass, please e-mail Phil or Jenny. A committee member (or two) will also be present at the Peterhouse Freshers' Squash, so feel free to sign up then.

For your interest and pleasure, here is a (very small) photo of us in action:
