Hey all!

In addition to the Coupland film that the CCC is checking out next
week - (Everything's Gone Green followed by pub night! - 28 March),
the Arts Picturehouse has a Canadian film series on. Check out the
upcoming programme http://www.picturehouses.co.uk/
cinema_home_date.aspx?eventId=fl6gqy%40camb

The series includes:

The Journals of Knud Rasmussen - Sunday 25 March 2007 - 2:45
This is the gorgeous second feature by the filmmakers of the
critically acclaimed and award winning ATANARJUAT. In Igoolik, in
1922, one of the last great Inuit shamans and his daughter struggle
to find a balance between their people's traditions and the
Christianity that is infiltrating their land. This richly innovative
and exquisitely shot film about the clash of civilisations is told
through the eyes of Knud Johan Victor Rasmussen, the Danish
adventurer and ethnographer who crossed the Northwest Passage by
dogsled.

Everything's Gone Green - Wednesday 28 March 2007 - 6:30
EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN is the first screenplay by world-renowned
Canadian author Douglas Coupland, who defined the voice of a
generation with his book Generation X. Paulo Constanzo stars as a
loveable young slacker who has an opinion about everything but who
excels at doing a lot of nothing - which puts him at odds with the
overachievers surrounding him in Vancouver's yuppie, capitalist
culture. But soon he gives in - with chaotic consequences - to the
forces of the green stuff in this sly and clever commentary on the
times.

Bon Cop, Bad Cop - Sunday 1 April 2007 - 5:00
The delightfully comical BON COP, BAD COP wowed audiences and
recently became the highest grossing Canadian film of all time. This
buddy cop romp with a distinctly Canadian flavour follows the hijinks
of two policemen, from English and French Canada respectively, forced
to work together across provincial borders to solve a lurid crime in
the glamorous world of ice-hockey. Their rocky relationship causes
more than a few problems as they attempt to solve the case and issues
in their personal lives, all of which is captured with cinematic
finesse and a savvy sense of humour.

Hard Core Logo - Wednesday 4 April 2007 - 6:30
HARD CORE LOGO has achieved cult status as a unique entry into the
zany genre of the mock rockumentary. Legendary Canadian filmmaker
Bruce McDonald takes his camera on the road with the punk band Hard
Core Logo as they desperately try to keep their fame alive on a tour
through Western Canada. The ragtag group is held together by the
sheer tenacity of lead singer Joe Dick, but even his iron will might
not be enough as the tension builds, in hilarious fashion, during
their crazy time on the road.

Hopefully see you there!
