Dear all,

Firstly, thank you to everyone who came to the
dinner last Friday - hope you had a great time!
Thank you all for making it such a tremendous
success. We'll have some pictures on our website
shortly, and I encourage anyone who has pictures
they are willing to have posted publicly to send
them to me and i'll add them too. (Please make
sure that they are not too high res though, so
you don't overload my account!)

A couple of exciting events coming up soon:

1. HOCKEY!!!! (Attendance compulsory if you're Canadian!)

Ever watched live ice hockey? Fancy supporting your University team against
Oxford as part of the oldest hockey rivalry in the world?

Take advantage of our Cool Friday Varsity Package with a group of friends on
Friday 9th March 2007:

* Unique night out away from Cambridge!
* Coaches from Cambridge to take you there and back
* Option to join the public skating session until 10pm, with a group
           discount deal
* Seats to watch the Women's 2007 Cambridge-Oxford ice hockey varsity
           match (10.30pm face-off)
*        Bar available until 10.30pm
*        On-ice entertainment

Tickets for the match are £5, and include free
coach transport to Peterborough and back. For
those who fancy strutting their stuff on ice
beforehand, there will be an early coach leaving
at 7.30pm, and skate hire is available. A second
set of coaches will be leaving at 8.30pm for
those who don't wish to skate.

For tickets, please send cheques made payable to
"CUWIHC" to Chloe Revill, New Hall College.
Places on the coaches must be booked in advance -
please indicate whether you would like to book a
place for the early or late coach when you send
payment.

Visit our website at
http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~cuwihc/ for more
details, or check out our Facebook group "Womens
Ice Hockey Varsity 2007". See you there!

2. Screening of Vancouverite Douglas Coupland's
(http://www.coupland.com/) new movie at Cambridge
Arts Theatre March 28th, followed by pub night:

Hello Cambridge Canadian Club, it's Chris Nanos
here. I'm a producer on the feature film
entitled EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN written by
Canadian writer Douglas Coupland.

Douglas is best known for his books Generation X,
All Families Are Psychotic and most recently JPod.

So, we're going to be doing a small preview of
the feature film EVERYTHING'S GONE GREEN in the
UK. We're screening in Dublin, Glasgow,
Edinburgh and including Cambridge on March 28.

I've attached to this email a small card of
information and I ask that you send it to members
of your club, friends and anyone you know that
would be interested in attending a screening of
the film.

I've also attached a set of press notes that can
also be passed along. Let me know if you have
any questions and in need of further information.
I hope all is well with you all over in that
corner of the world. Thanks in advance. Take
care. Chris Nanos.

....after the movie, we can head to a nearby pub
for 'critical analysis' (beer consumption).
[Please note: this is on the SAME DAY as the Bare
Naked Ladies concert....Damn! Just FYI.]

---

Hope to see you at these events! And remember - send us those pictures!

Take care,

Mary
