Hey all,
Today's Canadian Club bulletin includes the following:
1) The Cambridge Canadian Studies Programme is offering 2 scholarships
to undertake a specific research project in Canada, with a view to help
foster collaboration with researchers in Canada. See attached Word doc.
2) "The Rise of Complex Terrorism: How Our Societies Are Becoming More
Vulnerable and What We Can Do About It", May 17, Canada House
given by Professor Thomas Homer-Dixon, Director of the Pierre Elliott
Trudeau Centre for Peace
and Conflict Studies, University of Toronto. See attached pdf.
and last but not least,
3) The club is getting together for a pub night to celebrate Victoria
Day on Wed, May 24th at the Granta Pub. Look for us to be there at
around 8 pm. Coincidentally, The Tragically Hip will be honoured on that
same day, but in Toronto, by the Royal Conservatory of Music to
celebrate their lasting contribution. Hope you got tickets to their show
in July.
Enjoy the bbq'ing season,
Hank
