International Security Conference.
Attached is a flyer for a conference at RUSI on 25 April. It is entitled 
'Canada, the UK and International Security in the 21st Century'.

Canada-UK Seminar on Cities.

Further to the 2005 Canada-UK Colloquium ('Cities and National Success') 
held at Cardiff in November, I wish to invite you to a follow-up seminar 
on cities. As indicated below, it will be held at Canada House on 
Tuesday 11 April at 5pm and a reception will follow at about 6.30.

 

The event will involve a panel of short presentations and an open 
discussion chaired by the High Commissioner, Mel Cappe. It has a number 
of purposes. The first is to provide to key colleagues and contacts a 
summary of the findings of the Rapporteur's Report from the Cardiff 
Colloquium. The second is to provide the Office of the Deputy Prime 
Minister with an opportunity to note the key findings of their recent 
report, 'State of the English Cities'. The final purpose is to examine 
ways in which the currently vigorous and ongoing dialogue between the UK 
and our Cities Secretariat in Ottawa may best be maintained.

 

The core audience will be those with interest or expertise in issues 
pertaining to cities: parliamentarians, councillors, officials, 
academics, think tank representatives, business organisations, and the 
media.
