Well, if you want to get a degree, there's bound to
be some work involved along the way...
We've written a little bit about the subjects available at Peterhouse from a student's point of view, and why we chose Peterhouse to study our chosen courses. More detail on the actual structure and content of the courses offered by the university can be found in the main prospectus here. Your lectures (and practicals for scientists) will be based in a department or faculty building, but your supervisions will be organised entirely by your 'Director of Studies', who is normally a fellow of your college. So choice of college does have some bearing on how you will be taught, and while there isn't a definite 'best' college for your subject some idea of how your prospective college does things should be very helpful.
The great thing about Peterhouse is that it has some fellows with international academic reputations who really are at the cutting edge of their fields, so if you want to push yourself and really achieve there's nothing stopping you. People are rewarded for becoming well-rounded and conscientious individuals as well as achieving the highest levels of academic success. In this respect Peterhouse is arguably the best of all the colleges; your education is not just a series of exams and result slips but a set of experiences and friends that'll be with you for the rest of your life!
