Chapel & Choir

Peterhouse Chapel Choir is made up of a wide-range of people, both members of the college and others, both undergraduates and graduates. We sing two evensongs a week (on Thursdays and Sundays) with rehearsals before both, and we have a main practice on Wednesdays. In addition, the choir sings for special services and in concerts. Recent summer tours have included the Baltic, Provence, Wales, Prague and Venice. Members of the choir have the opportunity to have free singing tuition with professional teachers following auditions, and another popular benefit is free formal hall after all practices and services. Peterhouse Chapel Choir is a friendly, sociable choir, run by the Peterhouse Organ Scholars. Previous singing experience is advantageous, but many previous choir members have joined with little or no experience, and rapidly achieve the high standards we maintain. We offer both choral scholarships, for which applicants audition a year in advance, and choral exhibitions, also involving an audition, upon arrival in Cambridge
