MCR IN THE BAR and cocktail of the month

Dear MCR members,

The Newnham College Old Boilerhouse Bar would like to invite you to a new weekly event: MCR IN THE BAR on Sunday 12th February, open 7.30pm - 11.00pm.

Drink deals from the cheapest bar in Cambridge: 2 bottles of red for £10, gin and tonic only £2.50!

So come and join us every Sunday for a relaxing evening in a friendly and cosy atmosphere. Feel free to bring friends, a good book, or just some scientific theories or abstract artistic musings for discussion with the bartenders- who are always ready to listen (or be beaten at pool) :)

Also, coming soon:
"DIPSOMANIA!" Cocktail masterclasses and tasting sessions- everything you need to know about mixing perfect drinks from a knowledgeable and experienced mixologist, right on your doorstep!
Tuition in the Newnham Bar for groups of 4-6 people, only £15 per person for Newnhamites (email: georgiabilling[at]gmail.com for more details or to book).

Hope to see you all this Sunday (if you're really lucky you might see me do some bar flair...)

Cheers,
Georgia (MCR bar rep).

Cocktail of the month:
Sex on the beach (version #2)
We all know version #1, but I think version 2 is better...

1 shot vodka,
½ shot Midori melon,
½ shot Chambord,
dash of sugar syrup,
dash of lemon juice,
3 shots pineapple juice

Mix ingredients in shaker, add cubed ice, shake and strain over fresh ice in a tall glass. Garnish with cherry and pineapple wedge.

Speed Networking - 13th February

Our lovely Social Secretaries have organised a fun event that enables you to meet and network with grads from other colleges. For more information read their message below:

Hello Gals,

We have been invited to an event hosted by Corpus College to take place at their graduate house, Leckhampton, on Monday 13th February at 8pm . It's going to be a speed networking event (rather than speed dating), where we can get to know more graduate students from other colleges. So regardless of your relationship status, single, in a relationship, it's complicated etc etc..., come along and meet other grads from Corpus, Wolfson, Churchill and Selwyn colleges. If you'd like to walk in a group there, we will meet in the plodge and leave at about 7:45pm .

Hope to see you there!

Love your social secretaries xxx
