The Newnham MCR (Middle Common Room) is the community of graduate students within the college. We are a friendly and energetic group of about 250 women with a huge variety of academic interests, backgrounds, nationalities, and other interests. What we share is an amazing community in one of the prettiest colleges in the University of Cambridge. Newnham College was founded in 1871 to give women back then the opportunity to study and have become excellent in their careers and lives more generally. This ethos has not changed since and Newnham strives to be the best place for any woman to study.

But life at Newnham is not just about work! We are a vibrant community and organise a lot of social activities in addition to participating in a huge variety of College and University clubs and societies. This website is designed to give both prospective and current students information that they might need and an update on what is going on in the MCR. Enjoy the browsing, and see you soon!
