The Magdalene Musical Production Society was founded in 2001, when Hall was transformed into the Biblical desert setting of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Since then, MMPS has grown from strength to strength, and now plays host to one of Magdalene's most popular annual ents - the Lent Musical.
The Society aims to get as many Magdalenites as possible involved, from freshers to postdocs, making it an excellent platform to meet people throughout the college. One of the largest College societies, we need actors, stage crew, choreographers, directors, publicists, musicians, seamstresses, set builders, lighting designers, sound engineers, and a whole host of other roles!
Unlike most of the University societies, we don't ask for any previous experience - so even if you're a theatrical virign, don't be shy! We'll teach you to sing and dance, or to build and light a stage, so you're bound to pick up some new skills. Perhaps best of all, we don't charge subscriptions, so it's completely free to join!
So if you'd like to get involved in Magdalene's greatest society, or if you'd just like to find out more about it, please feel free to contact any member of the committee.
Update!
An extra performance has been added to this year's run of The Grasps of Love! As well as the evening performances from Thur 9th to Sat 11th, there will be a matinee on the Saturday afternoon from 2pm - so there's no excuse not to bring your parents!
