[Coffee!] BA room coffee, Sunday, 4pm

Dear all,

I don't know about you, but I've been drinking quite a lot of coffee this week. Furthermore, not one cup of it was free, and this worries me. Having given the matter some thought, I and other members of the committee have realised that the easiest way to mitigate our risks of personal overspending is to call a Cofsoc meeting; and, being law-abiding people, we figured we'd better invite all of you as well.

Coffee, Trinity BA Rooms next to the JCR, Sunday at 4pm. There will be BAs around to let you in.

[Coffee!] Freshers' Week Coffee

Welcome back everyone!

Precisely one of the following four things is increased by drinking coffee:

1. Moral character;
2. Quality of conversation;
3. Physical attractiveness;
4. Appetite.

To find out which, come to K1 New Court on Wednesday any time from 2pm til about 4pm. Those of you pretending to be Freshers can surely still squeeze us in between going to Laserquest and the library tour.

There is a good chance that there will be Freshers at this meeting, so come suitably prepared....

Tim Austin

Hello all,

Despite their sententious philosophising, I think I'm actually meant to include the next three paragraphs (written by others who - to avoid public reprisals - I will allow to remain unnamed). Skip to the end if you're easily bored or have taste.

Summer. May Week. Langourous afternoons in the fellows' garden; grass-stained beige linen; elderflower-scented nights and black tie dawns. But after a term's hard work, does the unreality seem somehow less real? Does the sun shine on the backs at quarter strength, is the Cam muddier and less inspiring, is even Great Court itself indefinably less great? Does life suddenly seem flat and lack-lustre?

If so, fear not. You may think you've been hit hard by existential angst, but the true problem is more mundane: along with early mornings, revision marathons and compulsive stationary-purchasing, you've accidentally given up coffee as well. You've thrown the baby out with the bathwater!

And, dear members, this common June misfortune comes with a universal panacea, which is included under my umbrella of responsibility as your august leader.

CofSoc today: alcoholic coffees, 9pm, H3 Whewells, with possibly appointment of next year's committee.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you all in on my secret for getting through exam term. Did I say secret? I think we all know what it is. That's right! I get power trips by sending inane mass-mailings.

Technically, the only way that I have of getting away with this one (for 'getting away' read not having ones eyes scratched out by She Who Must Be Obeyed) is of reminding you that there's a Cofsoc meeting in K1 New Court (wait a minute! I don't remember agreeing to this) at 2 o' clock today, where hardened addicts with shaking hands or yellow clothing will gather in my room and pretend to be normal human beings.

Squishles

P.S. She Who Must Be Obeyed, you're in charge of whoever's in charge of bringing the coffee.
