HENRY'S EIGHT, Easter 98

Notes from the KCBC Archives

* More photos and memorabilia have arrived to be indexed and some alumni have taken the trouble to write up some of their memories.

* The missing President's book of 1966 has been found! Remember that the tradition of keeping a President's book was lost after 1966 and until 1995, after the last book had gone missing. The project to restore the missing years by asking old President's to write up their years from memory and their personal notes and collections is progressing steadily. The President's books will then form the basis for writing up the KCBC history.

* This KCBC Book Project is on schedule. The book's publication date is expected to be around Christmas 1998. Orders are now taken and you can also help by writing up your memorabilia or by volunteering to be interviewed about your period of rowing at King's. Follow the link for details.

* Much of the archives are now accessible via the KCBC pages on the Internet. We would be grateful if you could have a look and check your years against your memory and let us know if anything needs to be corrected. The 'virtual' KCBC archives are here. If you would like to access the KCBC archives in person, you can arrange do so by contacting the King's Archvist via telephone 01223-331444 or e-mail kings-modern-archivist@lists.cam.ac.uk.

* If you have any memorabilia (photos, newspaper clippings, bumps programmes, dinner menu cards etc.) that you would like to donate to the archives, please send them to the KCBC Archivist, 842 King's College, Cambridge CB2 1ST. If you would rather keep your memorabilia, we can make copies and send the originals straight back to you.

*Finally, a thank-you to all those who have sent material in to us, and to all those who have taken the time to supplement our records with a written record of their own. Please keep them coming!

Jack Wasey, Alumni Association Secretary & Archivist.
