Vice President: Neeru Ravi (nr336)Hi, Im Neeru, a 2nd Year Engineer at Pembroke, and Ive recently joined the committee as Vice President. I thoroughly enjoyed all the events India Society organised last year, so Im keen to make sure that this years events are just as amazing!
Having been born and brought up in India, and visiting it every year, I am very much in touch with India and its culture. I hope to help shape India Society as a place where you can come not only to have fun and socialise, but also for intellectual discussions and to participate in causes beneficial to the future success and growth of India.
Im also the Ethnic Minorities Officer at Pembroke College, involved in the Cambridge University Indian Classical Arts Society, and a keen cricketer.
Im friendly and approachable, so please get in touch if you have any suggestions as to how we can improve as a society, or just want to find out more about what India Society do. |

year. Now with better economic conditions, our long-term vision for
sponsorship will focus on higher duration sponsors as well as a local
Cambridge-based presence. During my year as a committee member I hope to
contribute in raising awareness among companies about our charitable
donations. Ultimately, we hope to run as many events as possible for you
and to continue Nehru's aim of promoting Indian culture. If you have any
questions or ideas about sponsorship please e-mail me on rd413@cam.ac.uk |

Grad Liason: Apoorva Jayaraman (aj328) I am a 3rd year PhD student in Astronomy. I did a Masters degree in
Physics at Oxford, before which I did my undergrad at St Stephen's College,
Delhi. I'm very passionate about Indian Classical Dance and you'll probably
mostly see me around at cultural shows and performances in town! In CUIS, I
represent the interests of the Indians at Cambridge who have spent the
larger part of their lives in India, which happens to be chiefly the
Graduate community. I personally came into Cambridge looking forward to
share an extremely vibrant and dynamic intellectual environment with fellow
Indians here, and I let this be the main motivation of any contribution I
might make to CUIS. Graduates!!! if you have any suggestions to make CUIS'
current events more amenable to you / if you feel CUIS is lacking that
little something you're looking for , I'm your person! Just shout for me! |

I'll be operating mostly from a backstage-esque perspective, so you won't see much of me, though this could just be due to the fact that I'm supposedly vertically challenged. |
