Regular Events

Members of CUAAS meet regularly, once or twice a week, (usually a Friday) at various pubs around Cambridge. Members, non-members and the curious are welcome to come along and discuss whatever's on their minds, have a good moan, ask questions, and generally meet each other, whilst enjoying an alcoholic (or otherwise) beverage. If you can't find us, shout something godless and look for the Bus Campaign t-shirts.

The next pub meet is on Friday 8th May (people will be there from around 8.30pm) at the Anchor on Silver Street [Directions].

Easter 2009

This term we are delighted to host the following events:

'Charles Darwin: the Man, the Myth, the Legend'
--Dr John van Wyhe
7.30pm, Wednesday 6th May
John is a CUAAS member and he runs the project to edit and post online all of Darwin's extant writings . He recently published a book on Darwin and has, as you might expect, been rather busy in this bicentenary year! He's taking an evening out to come and speak to us about the man who has contributed so much to our modern, secular world-view. The Cambridge Union.
The Kennedy Room is left at the fork of the stairs, then right.

[DIRECTIONS]

Although exam term is very busy, we usually have one or two talks at the beginning of term. We're sorry to say that we have only arranged one speaker this term, but please watch this space, and towards the end of term, over summer, or at the beginning of Michaelmas 2009 we should have a fresh selection of speakers and events once again.

Unless stated otherwise, talks and similar events are free for members and £1 for non-members. You can also join CUAAS on the door and avoid paying an entrance fee. All talks begin at 7.30PM . Unless otherwise indicated, events are usually in the Kennedy Room of the Cambridge Union Society .

Freshers' Societies Fair Michaelmas 2009

Michaelmas this year will see the triumphant return of CUAAS to the societies fair to attract new members. Anyone wanting to volunteer to help out on the stall, give advice and ideas for displays, or donate cakes and sweets would be much appreciated! Contact Dom Hinkins.

Other activities

We intend to arrange other events that would be useful and appealing to our membership such as social events and debates. Please let us know what kind of events you would be interested in.
