The Heywood Society is named after seventeenth century poet Thomas Heywood. The Society, orginally Peterhouse's theatrical society has since merged with the film society in one great creative conglomorate. The Heywood Society is run by a committee made up of College members.

Our Productions

Heywood supports external shows and has both funded and produced numerous shows at the famous Edinburgh Festival. However, the majority of Heywood's projects are planned, produced and run solely by the Committee. Cast and crew, where possible, are drawn from the College although often actors and technicians from the wider University get involved. Peterhouse's gardens and theatre make the college a popular venue, particularly for the annual Summer show held in the Deer Park.
