Salve! Welcome to the website of the Herodoteans, the Cambridge University Classics Society. Our society promotes Classics both within the Faculty and throughout the University, and provides a friendly social forum for students to explore Classics beyond the curriculum. We host a variety of events ranging from academic talks, which break the boundaries of traditional topics, to social events, including our annual Garden Party which is not to be missed! Check out the Events diary for information on past and upcoming events.

Students in the Classics Faculty automatically join the Herodoteans, while students from other faculties and on related courses are also welcome to join or to attend relevant events. Joining the Herodoteans is free: just turn up to an event or contact a member of the Committee for more information. The Glory that was Greece and the Grandeur that was Rome awaits!

On this website you can also read our Constitution and find out about our involvement in the Faculty's Student-Staff Joint Committee, which discusses issues of postgraduate and undergraduate students and is in direct contact with the Faculty Board. Any concerns raised to the Herodoteans will be brought forward at these meetings.

Past copies of the Classics newsletter are available to download from our Newsletter page where you can also find information on how you can contribute. The Newsletter can also be found in the Classics Faculty library shelved at classmark Per 315.

For membership, queries, sponsorship or press, please email the President, Seymour Mac Mahon, on sm864@cam.ac.uk.

Kindest wishes,

The Committee
