| Primary School Workshops
HATS is pleased to be able to offer drama workshops to primary schools in the Cambridge area, giving the opportunity for local children to explore the arts in a fun and interactive way. The workshops are free and are flexible to suit the needs of the individual school, catering for all ages from 5 to 11. They last from 1-2 hours and range from interactive storytelling at key stage 1 level, to general acting workshops and Shakespeare workshops exploring plays such as ‘Romeo and Juliet' and ‘The Tempest' at key stage 2. As a teaching training institute, Homerton College students have a wide range of experience working in schools and providing these workshops allows us to share our passion for drama with young people and also to broaden our knowledge and skills for later practice within the arts and education. The workshops also provide a way of enriching young people's experience of the arts and in stimulating imagination and creativity, and in building important life-skills such as self-confidence, team-work and co-operation. |
