WOULD YOU LIKE TO ....

Meet lots of new people???

Enjoy mature, stimulating conversation?

Experience the best of Cambridge, its colleges, parks and restaurants?

The graduate dining society makes all this happen...

Congratulations! You made it through your undergraduate years successfully.

Now, you can begin to enjoy the pleasures of graduate life. Cambridge is a great place to be a graduate.

The university boasts more than 5000 graduates, with numerous societies and activities to keep you busy.

You may find that, after the initial heady excitement of fresher's events, your life becomes centred around your research and your college. Increasingly, it may become a challenge to meet people from outside your usual circles.

The Graduates Dining Society is geared towards meeting this challenge. This society is dedicated to helping grads meet and mingle. The GDS organises dinners, cocktail parties and other fun events for graduate groups. As a member, you will be invited to formal halls, pot-luck dinners, autumn walks and picnics, pub crawls, etc!

There is no membership fee. You can decide what events you wish to attend, depending on what takes your fancy. Whether you are looking for a fresh pastime, new companions, or simply want to try other Colleges' formals, the Dining Society is the right place to begin your search.

To join the Graduates Dining Society, send an email giving your name, college (if any) and the fact that you want to JOIN the GDS to the address below. You will be added onto our email list so that you receive information about our next events.

Join the GDS...

Often, it feels awkward to attend events alone. You may arrive only to find that you don't know anyone. However, if you go with your usual crowd, you may not meet anyone new!

The dining Society’s events are geared towards the individual who wishes to meet new people. We will ensure that all attendees are welcomed by a designated host or hostess. We will ensure that you are introduced to other members and are circulating well. Furthermore, your host will ensure that your glass never runs dry!
