Welcome to Fisher House
Welcome to the website of Fisher House, the Catholic Chaplaincy to the University of Cambridge.

The Chaplaincy was founded in 1895 and has been at Fisher House since 1924. We couldn’t be more central, immediately next to the Grand Arcade Shopping Mall, the Guildhall, Corn Exchange and the very popular Cow pub and pizza parlour, and a stone’s throw from the Market Square.
The chaplaincy complex is much more extensive than it appears and we have just completed a major rebuilding, opening for the first time as this new academical year begins. We now have a large and beautiful new church, the Chapel of St John Fisher; the Fisher Room, a spacious room for gatherings, with a kitchen and bar; a newly-refurbished library on the upper floor and a large roof garden. All members of Fisher House have access to the chaplaincy from early in the morning till late at night via a combination door and the chaplaincy is in constant use as meeting place for students, undergraduate and graduate. At Fisher House you will meet people from every college and discipline, junior and senior. There are many different events on weekday evenings, both educational and social, and lunch is available every weekday of Full Term.
You’ll find something to interest everybody among all the many things going on here. If there is anything you would like to ask in advance of coming up, please feel free to make contact by e-mail with me () or Sr Ann, our chaplaincy assistant (
), and when you arrive in Cambridge do call to say hello any time. Fisher House is a warm, inviting and hospitable chaplaincy: I hope you will make full use of it while you’re up.
Fr Alban, Chaplain
