Portland Easter 2002

Saturday 29th March to Wednesday 2nd April

If you want to come but haven't told me, email me now!

It would be useful those going could all email me their mobile numbers before the trip - cheers.

People are mostly arriving on Sunday and Monday. We'll be staying at Glen Caravan Park in Easton, so if you arrive in the evening you'll probably find us in the Mermaid pub across the road... If you arrive during the day we'll be climbing somewhere - give me a ring.

Directions by car: drive onto Portland and follow the main road up the hill. After some steep bends you'll come to a roundabout at the top. Take the 2nd exit. Follow this road through Easton until you see the Mermaid on the left - the Glen Caravan Park is opposite. On the map this is opposite the "Mus" label near Rufus Castle and you are arriving on the big red road.

Buses: There are frequent buses to and from Weymouth. Timetable here. This is in pdf format and for some reason is 800k to download - essentially you want the number 1 bus from Debenhams in Weymouth to Easton. They run every 10 minutes during the day and until 23.50ish.

Timings: I'll probably arrive by about 4pm on the Saturday. We'll probably be finished by about 5pm on Wednesday, but you're free to arrive and leave whenever you want.

Bring: rock boots, sleeping bag, shoes or boots that can cope with scrambling around on seashore boulders. If you have them bring harness, belay plate, quickdraws, rope, helmet, etc.

Any problems phone Tom (phone number emailed out earlier).
