The team from ECMC attempted this peak from late December 1999, hoping to summit on January 1st 2000. The expedition is raising money for , the United Nations Children's Fund.

We were sponsored by Ove Arup & Partners' Arup Communications, who are providing Iridium satellite communications for the expedition. Daily GPS positional updates, voice logs, and other information were posted here during the progress of the expedition.
