The first game of the season was an opportunity to see our freshers in action for the first time, and find out who would be good enough to play in the rest of our matches. We struggled initially as new players struggled to find each other's style of play but Emma's football became more coherent as the first half went on and scored near half time.
Half time saw substitutions as those not given a run from the start were tried out, and that unsettled the Emma boys for 15 minutes or so, but our second goal gave us confidence and put Downing heads down. After that Emma were in control and scored two more well taken goals. A very promising start to the year.
